Our primary research interests focus on the structural-functional mechanisms of various tissues, specifically the role of biomechanics in maintaining optimal tissue performance in physiological conditions and biomechanical abnormality in diseased conditions. The hope is to apply the gained knowledge to better design novel biomaterials, bioprostheses, and medical interventions.
Research track record: Cardiac tissues, heart valve tissues, blood vessels, maternal tissues, tendons/ligaments, brain tissues, hard tissues, and biomaterials.
